MYAC Resources is currently recruiting experienced Mechanical Fitters for multiple permanent, full-time opportunities across Perth, Western Australia and Townsville, Queensland.

About the Role

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair and servicing of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.

• Depending on the employer and project, your responsibilities may include:

• Mechanical maintenance, servicing and fault finding on industrial plant and equipment

• Preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing

• Breakdown repairs to minimise downtime

• Installation, alignment and commissioning of mechanical equipment

• Repair and replacement of bearings, motors, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors and other mechanical components

• Hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation

• Performing equipment inspections and reporting maintenance requirements

• Completing maintenance records and documentation

• Working safely in accordance with company procedures and WHS requirements

• Collaborating with maintenance and production teams to maximise equipment reliability

About You

To be successful, you will ideally have:

• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Mechanical Fitter) or equivalent recognised trade qualification

• Previous experience in manufacturing, heavy industry, mining, industrial maintenance or engineering environments

• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills

• Experience maintaining rotating equipment and industrial machinery

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals

• Strong problem-solving ability

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Commitment to workplace health and safety

Highly Regarded

• The following experience and licences are advantageous:

• Experience within mining, manufacturing or steel processing

• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems experience

• Conveyor and materials handling equipment experience

• Welding and fabrication experience

• Forklift Licence

• Elevated Work Platform (EWP)

• Confined Space and Working at Heights tickets

• Experience using maintenance management systems (CMMS)
