Truck Driver / Yard Person

MYAC Resources is currently seeking an experienced Truck Driver / Yard Person on behalf of our client, a well-established engineering and fabrication company based in Perth, Western Australia.

Our client is looking for a reliable and hands-on person for an immediate start. The successful candidate will take ownership of the yard while supporting the day-to-day operations of a busy fabrication workshop. This is a varied role involving truck driving, forklift operation, yard management and general trade-assistant duties.

About the role

As a Truck Driver/Yard Person you will support our workshop to ensure we deliver a quality product to our client, in full and on time.  This will include:

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing support to the team as required to complete work activities

• Performing daily pre-start checklist on vehicles to ensure they are fit for operations

• Using the Forklift to move steel and equipment around the yard

• Ensuring deliveries and collections are completed safely and on time

• Loading and unloading trucks and delivery vehicles

• Operating a variety of tools including grinders, power drills and other cutting or shaping tools as required to complete assigned tasks

• Ability to take ownership of the Yard

About you

To be considered for this position, you must have:

• A current and valid HR driver’s licence

• A current forklift licence

• Previous truck-driving experience

• A positive, can-do attitude

• A strong focus on safety and quality

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team

• The physical ability to undertake manual and hands-on work

• Previous experience within an engineering, fabrication, mining or industrial workshop will be highly regarded.
