About the Role

As a Welder/Fabricator, you will be involved in the fabrication, assembly and repair of metal components across a range of manufacturing, engineering and industrial projects.

Working in modern, well-equipped workshops, you will be part of a professional team committed to quality workmanship and high safety standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Manufacturing components and welded assemblies from engineering drawings.

  • Completing precision fabrication and welding work in accordance with quality requirements.

  • Working with mechanical and engineering teams to manufacture high-quality products.

  • Identifying repair requirements and estimating repair times.

  • Operating fabrication machinery and workshop equipment.

  • Inspecting completed work to ensure it meets the required standards.

  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work area.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

  • Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade, including MEM30305, MEM31922, MEM30319 or MEM31925, or an equivalent recognised qualification.

  • A minimum of three to five years’ experience as a Welder/Fabricator or Boilermaker.

  • Proficiency in FCAW, GMAW and CAC-A (Air Carbon Arc Cutting).

  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication plans.

  • The ability to complete welding qualification tests to AS/NZS 1554 SP requirements.

  • Experience operating fabrication machinery and workshop equipment.

  • Strong fabrication, measuring and welding skills.

  • High attention to detail and pride in producing quality workmanship.

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.

  • A strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

  • A reliable attitude and strong work ethic.

  • The ability to complete a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening, and other required employment checks.

Highly Regarded

  • Forklift Licence (LF).

  • Current Australian C Class Driver’s Licence.

  • Dogging (DG), Basic Rigging (RB) or EWP High Risk Work Licence.

  • Previous experience within heavy fabrication, mining, manufacturing or industrial environments.
